Set up Mosque TV for the first time

This checklist takes you from nothing to a working prayer screen. You need to be an Organization Admin or Super Admin.

Steps#

1. Check your timezone. Open Settings → Organization and confirm the Timezone is where your mosque is. Mosque TV uses it to work out today's date and to count down to prayers. See Timezone and daylight saving.
2. Set up your prayer times. Open Mosque TV, then Prayer Setup. Choose Calculate them automatically (recommended) or Use my custom prayer schedule if your mosque has its own timetable. See Set up calculated prayer times or Upload your own prayer timetable.
3. Add Jumu'ah. On the Jumu'ah Times tab, choose Add Jumu'ah and enter a name, the Khutbah time and the Iqamah time for each Friday service.
4. Turn on Mosque TV. On the TV Settings tab, tick Turn on Mosque TV and choose Save settings. Nothing shows on any screen until this is on.
5. Pick a theme and add your logo. Still on TV Settings, choose one of the six themes, and upload your logo under Organization logo. See Themes and logo.
6. Connect a screen. Either pair a TV that has the NizamOS TV app (Pair a Mosque TV screen), or open your TV code in the TV's web browser (Open Mosque TV in a web browser).
7. Add announcements (optional). On Announcements & Posters, add posters, announcements and ticker messages. See Announcements and posters.

Good to know#

• You can check what the screen will look like before going to the TV: on TV Settings, the Full TV link has a Preview button that opens the display in a new browser tab.
• Changes you make later reach open screens within about a minute.
• While Mosque TV is turned off, every screen and your website widget show "Display unavailable" or "Prayer times are unavailable right now" instead of your times.
• If your prayer schedule has no times for today, the screen says "Prayer schedule not set for today."
