Pair a Mosque TV screen

Pairing connects a TV that runs the NizamOS TV app to your organization. Each paired TV gets its own name and its own settings, and you can see whether it is online. Only Organization Admins and Super Admins can pair TVs.

To install the app first, see Install the NizamOS TV app. If your TV cannot run the app, you can still show Mosque TV in the TV's web browser instead. See Open Mosque TV in a web browser.

Steps#

1. On the TV, open the NizamOS TV app. It shows a 6-character pairing code.
2. On a phone or computer, sign in to NizamOS and open Mosque TV → TV Screens.
3. Under Pair a TV, type the code into Code on the TV. Capitals, spaces and dashes don't matter.
4. Enter a TV name that says where the TV is, such as "Main hall" or "Sisters' Area" (up to 60 characters).
5. Choose Pair TV. NizamOS shows "Almost done: press OK on the TV's remote to confirm pairing."
6. On the TV, the app asks you to confirm your mosque's name. Press OK on the remote.

The TV then opens your display. Make sure Turn on Mosque TV is ticked on the TV Settings tab, or the screen stays blank.

After pairing#

• A newly paired TV starts as the Main Mosque TV (prayer board, posters, announcements and ticker). Choose Configure beside it to switch it to the Prayer Display or give it its own theme. See Manage multiple TV screens.
• The TV checks in with NizamOS every few minutes. Its status shows as Online, Not connected or Waiting for first check-in.

Good to know#

• A pairing code lasts 10 minutes. If it runs out, the TV shows a new code.
• A code only pairs after someone presses OK at the TV, so a mistyped code cannot connect the wrong TV to your mosque.
• After too many codes that don't match, NizamOS asks you to wait an hour before trying again.
• Removing a TV from TV Screens makes it stop showing your display within a minute and return to its pairing screen.
