Use the bottom ticker on Mosque TV

The Bottom Ticker is a line of text along the bottom of the display, separate from announcement slides. It is good for short notices such as "Parking lot closed Saturday". Organization Admins and Super Admins manage it on Mosque TV → Announcements & Posters, below the slides.

Add a ticker message#

1. Open Mosque TV → Announcements & Posters and scroll to Bottom Ticker.
2. Choose Add Message.
3. Type the Message (up to 280 characters).
4. Optionally open Advanced: only show during a date range and set Start showing and Stop showing. Leave both blank to show it until you deactivate it.
5. Choose Add message.

Use the arrows to change the order, Deactivate to hide a message without deleting it, and the bin icon to delete it.

How the ticker looks#

• Messages show one at a time, each held for a few seconds, then fade to the next. The text does not crawl across the screen.
• Very long messages are cut short with "…", so keep them brief.
• The ticker appears on the Prayer Board, on poster and announcement slides and on the Focus screen. It is hidden on the High Focus and Iqamah screens.
• On a Prayer Display the ticker is off unless you turn on Announcement ticker for that screen under TV Screens → Configure.

Automatic Iqamah change notices#

On Mosque TV → TV Settings there are two optional switches:

• Automatically announce upcoming Iqamah changes adds a ticker line up to 3 days before an Iqamah time changes, whether the change comes from your Iqamah rules, your custom Iqamah schedule or your own prayer schedule.
• Automatic Iqamah change slide adds an "Iqamah Time Change" announcement to the slides for the same changes, until the day they take effect.

There is nothing to create or remove for these. Untick a switch and choose Save settings to stop them.

Good to know#

• Ticker messages do not count toward your plan's slide limit.
• Every screen shows the same ticker messages.
