What is NizamOS?
An overview of NizamOS, the system mosques and Islamic centres use to run people, programs, committees, volunteers, Madrasa and the prayer hall screen.
NizamOS is one system for running a mosque or Islamic centre. Your organization gets its own private workspace in NizamOS at app.nizamos.ca. Everyone who helps run it signs in to the same place, and each person sees the parts their role allows.
What you can do in NizamOS#
- Mosque TV — show prayer times, Jumu'ah, announcements, posters and a ticker on the screens in your prayer hall. See What is Mosque TV?
- People — one directory of your members and contacts, grouped into divisions.
- Programs — recurring classes and circles with sessions, attendance, QR check-in and public join links. Your organization may call these something else, such as Halaqas. See How Programs work in NizamOS.
- Committees — members, tasks, and meeting polls to find a time that suits everyone.
- Volunteers — volunteer interests, skills and availability, plus volunteer requests that recommend people who fit.
- Madrasa — families, students, classes, attendance, fees, and parent and teacher portals. See Madrasa overview and first-time setup.
- Notifications — in-app alerts, and email and text-message notifications when your plan includes them.
- Resources — a shared library of documents and links. See Share files and links in the Resources library.
- Facilities and bookings — rooms, a public booking page and approvals (Complete plan). See Set up facilities and rooms.
How it is organized#
- One person, one record. Every human being has a single record in People. Committees, programs, volunteering and roles all attach to that one record, so you never keep duplicate lists.
- Your organization is separate. Each organization's information is kept apart from every other organization on NizamOS.
- Access is by invitation. There is no public sign-up. An administrator invites the people who help run the organization. See Give someone sign-in access.
- Plans. NizamOS has three plans: Free, Core and Complete. See NizamOS plans and pricing.
Where to start#
- New to NizamOS and want an account for your mosque? See Create your organization.
- Just created your organization? Follow the First-week setup checklist.
- Invited by your mosque? See Sign in and switch organizations.
Good to know#
- NizamOS works in a web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. On a phone, open the menu button at the top to see the sections.
- Your organization's logo and name appear in the sidebar, the organization chooser and on Mosque TV.
