Fix a poster that isn't showing on the TV

Check the common reasons an announcement or poster doesn't appear on a Mosque TV screen, and why an upload can fail.

If a poster or announcement is saved but doesn't appear on a screen, one of these is usually the reason. Check them on Mosque TV → Announcements & Posters.

Check the slide#

  1. Is it Active? The slide's badge must say Active. If it says Inactive, choose Activate.
  2. Is it inside its date range? Choose the pencil and open Advanced: only show during a date range. Before Start showing or after Stop showing, the slide is hidden.
  3. Which screens is it on? Under the slide it says where it shows. If it says "Not showing on any screen", every TV chosen for it was removed. Edit it and pick screens, or choose All screens.

Check the screen#

  • Prayer Display screens never show slides. If the TV is set to Prayer Display on TV Screens → Configure, switch it to Main Mosque TV to show posters.
  • Browser screens show All screens slides only. A screen opened with the TV code or link is not a paired TV, so a slide set to Selected screens never shows there.
  • Slides pause before each prayer. During the Focus, High Focus and Iqamah screens, no slides are shown. Wait for the normal rotation.
  • Long rotations take time. Slides show one after another between Prayer Board views. With many slides, it can take a while to reach yours.
  • Changes reach open screens within about a minute.

The upload didn't work#

  • Posters must be JPEG, PNG or WebP, and 10 MB or smaller.
  • Large images are resized automatically. If one is still too big, save it as a JPEG at 1920 × 1080 and try again.
  • A file that isn't really an image (for example, a renamed document) is refused.
  • If your organization's storage is full, the upload is refused. Delete unused posters or upgrade in Settings → Plan & Billing.

"Your plan shows up to … slides at a time"#

Your plan limits how many slides are switched on at once (15 on Free, 50 on Core, 100 on Complete). Deactivate a slide you don't need right now; it stays saved. See Add announcements and posters.

The poster looks letterboxed#

Posters are shown whole, never cropped. An image that isn't 16:9 landscape has plain space beside it. Design posters at 1920 × 1080 to fill the screen.
