Take payment for a session registration
Charge a fee for a session registration through your organization's Stripe or Zeffy connection, and follow payments that are pending or need matching.
On this page
You can charge a fee for registering for a session. The payment goes through your organization's payment provider, Stripe or Zeffy, chosen once in Organization settings → Payments. Organization Admins and the program's Program Lead can make a session paid.
Before you start#
- An administrator must choose a payment provider. See Choose your payment provider.
- If the provider isn't ready, the Paid button is unavailable and the session page explains why.
- Paid registration is part of the Core plan and above.
Make a session paid#
- Open the session and find Session registration.
- Select Paid.
- Enter the Price in CAD and select Save.
- If your provider is Zeffy, choose the Zeffy form for this session under Zeffy form for this session and select Save Zeffy form. If NizamOS doesn't know the form's public link yet, paste it once. See Assign Zeffy forms and campaigns.
- Copy the registration link and share it.
What registrants experience#
- Stripe — the button reads Pay (price) & Register. They are taken to Stripe's secure checkout. After paying they return to the page while the payment is confirmed.
- Zeffy — an email address is required. After they register, they see One more step: pay on Zeffy and a Continue to Zeffy button. They should use the same email on Zeffy.
Follow payments on the session page#
- Awaiting payment lists people who registered but whose payment isn't confirmed yet. They join the attendance list automatically once payment is confirmed.
- Confirmed registrants appear on Mark attendance with a Paid tag. Admins can select Payment details to see when it was paid.
- Zeffy payments to match lists Zeffy payments for this session that couldn't be matched automatically, usually because the payer used a different email. Choose who paid from the list and select Match. Only registrations awaiting the same amount are offered.
Good to know#
- A registration is only marked paid after the payment provider confirms it. Returning from checkout doesn't mark it paid by itself.
- Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
- If your provider stops working, the public page tells visitors that online payment isn't set up right now, instead of starting a checkout that would fail.
