Organization Admins and the program's Program Lead can take attendance for a session. You can mark everyone by hand, or let members check themselves in by scanning a QR code. Both work on the same session, and you can use them together.

Mark attendance by hand#

  1. Open Programs, open the program, then open the session from the Sessions tab.
  2. Scroll to Mark attendance. Everyone starts as Not Marked.
  3. Tap Present, Absent or Excused for each person.
  4. Select Save attendance.

The list shows the program's active members, plus anyone who registered for this one session, marked Guest. Each row also shows how many past sessions that person attended. The numbers at the top of the session page show the totals and the attendance percentage.

To clear a mark, set the person back to Not Marked and save.

Let members check in with a QR code#

  1. On the session page, find Self check-in.
  2. Select Open attendance session. A QR code and a check-in link appear.
  3. Show the QR code on a screen or share the link with members.
  4. Members scan the code or open the link and are marked Present.
  5. When you are done, select Close session.

Good to know#

  • The check-in link is shown only once. Copy it at that moment if you need it again. If you lose it, select Regenerate link. The old link stops working.
  • A check-in link works for 3 hours after it is opened, unless you close it sooner.
  • Members must be signed in to NizamOS to check in, and they must be active members of the program. Session guests are marked by hand.
  • A member who checks in twice is told they are already checked in.
  • Manual marking always works as a fallback, even while self check-in is open.

Troubleshooting#

  • A member sees "Sign in to check in". That is expected. They sign in and are sent back to the check-in. See QR check-in asks members to sign in.
  • "You are not an active member of this group." Add the person on the program's Members tab, or mark them by hand.
  • "This check-in link has been replaced." Someone selected Regenerate link. Share the new link or QR code.
  • "This check-in link has expired" or "This attendance session is closed." Open a new attendance session from the session page.
