The Madrasa Teacher Portal

The Teacher Portal is a simple screen for Madrasa teachers. It shows only the classes you are assigned to, so you can take attendance, record progress and log your own work hours. It works well on a phone.

Who can use it#

• You must be an active Madrasa teacher with at least one active class assignment. An administrator sets this up in Madrasa → Teachers. See Set up Madrasa classes and teachers.
• You sign in to NizamOS with the email address on your People record.
• If you also help run the organization, open Teacher Portal from the menu under your name at the bottom of the sidebar.

Check in and out of work#

At the top of the portal, under Work attendance, select Check in when you arrive and Check out when you leave. My work attendance lists your recent entries. Work check-ins are separate from student attendance. If a time is wrong, ask a Madrasa administrator to correct it.

Take attendance#

1. Under My Classes, select Take attendance on a class. Today's attendance opens.
2. Tap a status for each student: Present, Absent, Late or Excused.
3. Select Save attendance.

If you open a class page some other way, select Take attendance for today to start.

Marks you saved earlier are shown when you come back. If someone in the office changed a mark while your page was open, their mark is kept and you are told. Recent attendance shows the class's latest sessions.

Record progress#

1. On the class page, go to Student progress. Progress is recorded for today.
2. Choose the progress area.
3. Rate each student: Not Yet, Developing, Meeting Expectations or Exceeding Expectations.
4. Select Save progress.

Parents can see progress ratings in the Parent Portal.

Good to know#

• You see only your own active classes. If No active class assignments appears, contact a Madrasa administrator.
• Office notes about students are not shown in the Teacher Portal.
• Select Sign out at the top when you are finished on a shared device.
• The Teacher Portal is part of the Madrasa module on the Core plan and above.
