Which TVs and devices work with Mosque TV?
The ways to show Mosque TV — the NizamOS TV app on Amazon Fire TV and Android TV boxes, or any modern web browser — and which devices suit each.
On this page
Mosque TV runs on the screen you already have. There are two ways to show it, and you can mix them across your screens.
Option 1: the NizamOS TV app (paired TVs)#
The NizamOS TV app runs on Amazon Fire TV devices and on Android-based TV boxes. A TV running the app is paired to your organization with a code, and then:
- it appears by name on Mosque TV → TV Screens with an Online status;
- it can have its own layout (Main Mosque TV or Prayer Display) and its own theme;
- it can be chosen for posters that should show on some screens only;
- you can remove it from NizamOS at any time.
Where to get the app:
- Amazon Fire TV — live on the Amazon Appstore for supported Fire TV devices. This is the recommended option.
- Other Android TV boxes — the official NizamOS TV APK from nizamos.ca/download.
- Google Play (Google TV / Android TV) — coming soon. Until it is released, use the APK or a web browser.
See Install the NizamOS TV app, then Pair a Mosque TV screen.
Option 2: a web browser (no app)#
Any smart TV, streaming stick or computer with a modern web browser can show Mosque TV. You open tv.nizamos.ca, type your mosque's TV code, and the display runs full-screen. No pairing and no app are needed. Browser support varies by TV model and software version.
- Browser screens always use the organization theme.
- They show posters set to All screens only.
- Use the Prayer Display link from Mosque TV → TV Screens → Browser screens for a timetable-only screen.
See Open Mosque TV in a web browser.
Supported Fire TV devices#
The Amazon Appstore lists NizamOS TV for these devices: Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen), Fire TV Stick Lite and Fire TV Cube (2nd and 3rd Gen).
Buying a new stick? Choose the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Plus — the product title must say "4K Plus". Do not buy the Fire TV Stick HD or the Fire TV Stick 4K Select for NizamOS TV; the 4K Select is not currently listed as a supported device.
Which should I choose?#
- Fire TV or an Android TV box: the app gives you names, per-screen settings and an Online status.
- Any other TV or a computer: use the browser.
- Both options show the same prayer times and update within about a minute when you make changes.
Good to know#
- Both options keep a copy of your schedule so the screen keeps working through short internet outages, once it has loaded while online. See Offline use and automatic updates.
- The display is designed for a landscape (16:9) screen.
- Turn off your TV's sleep timer or energy-saving auto power-off if the screen should stay on all day. See Fix a blank, stuck or offline Mosque TV.
