Set up Zeffy payments

Zeffy is a payment platform for nonprofits with no platform or transaction fees. NizamOS connects to your organization's own Zeffy account so it can confirm payments made on your Zeffy forms. Only Organization Admins and Super Admins can set it up. It takes about five minutes.

Run the Zeffy setup#

1. In NizamOS, open Organization settings → Payments.
2. On the Zeffy card, select Set up Zeffy.
3. Step 1: sign in to Zeffy, or create a free account, then select I have a Zeffy account.
4. Step 2: in Zeffy, go to Settings → Integrations → API, select Generate API key, and copy the key. Zeffy shows it only once. Select I copied my key.
5. Step 3: paste the key and select Save key. It is stored encrypted and is never shown in your browser again.
6. Steps 4 and 5: copy the web address NizamOS shows. In Zeffy, go to Settings → Integrations → Webhooks, add a new webhook with that address, choose the Payment completed event, and save. Then select I added the webhook.
7. Step 6: select Test connection. NizamOS makes one read-only call to Zeffy to confirm the key works.
8. When you see Zeffy is connected, select Done.

Use Zeffy for payments#

Back on the Payments page, select Use Zeffy for payments on the Zeffy card. Then tell NizamOS what each Zeffy form is for. See Assign Zeffy forms and campaigns.

Card status#

• Not connected — setup hasn't been done.
• Action required — a key is saved but the connection test hasn't passed. Select Finish setup.
• Connected — ready. The card shows the last four characters of your key.

Change or remove the key#

Select Manage Zeffy to run the setup again with a new key. On the last step, Remove this key disconnects Zeffy. If Zeffy is your payment provider, removing the key turns online payments off until you connect a provider again.

Good to know#

• Each organization has its own webhook address. Use the one shown in your setup, not one from another organization.
• NizamOS double-checks every payment with Zeffy before recording it.
• A payment on a Zeffy form that isn't assigned to anything in NizamOS is ignored.
• Online payments are part of the Core plan and above.
