A role decides what a person can manage in NizamOS. Your role is shown under your name at the bottom of the sidebar. Roles belong to one organization only.

The roles#

  • Super Admin — can do everything, including granting and removing the Super Admin role and granting NizamOS Support Access. The person who creates the organization is its first Super Admin.
  • Organization Admin — can manage everything in the organization except granting the Super Admin role. Admins see the Mosque TV, Organization settings, Facilities and Madrasa sections. Your organization may use a different name for this role, such as "Center Admin".
  • Division Lead — a role tied to one division. A Division Lead can create and update programs in their division.
  • Program Lead and Committee Lead — not granted on their own. A person becomes a lead automatically when they are chosen as the lead of a program or committee. A lead manages that group's members, sessions or tasks and meetings. The sidebar shows them as Group Lead.
  • Member — everyone else who can sign in, such as program members, committee members and volunteers. They see the groups they belong to and can, for example, answer meeting polls and accept volunteer invitations.

Where roles are managed#

  • Organization settings → User Access — invite someone to sign in and give them a role. Admins can grant Organization Admin and Division Lead; only a Super Admin can grant Super Admin. See Give someone sign-in access.
  • Organization settings → Roles — lists every active role and Past roles. Only a Super Admin can use Grant Role and Revoke here.

Remove a role#

  1. Open Organization settings → User Access.
  2. Find the person and select the small x on the role you want to end.

The role ends straight away, and the person's history stays. A person whose last role ended shows Access Ended.

Good to know#

  • At least one Super Admin must always remain. NizamOS says "At least one Super Admin must remain. Grant Super Admin to someone else first."
  • You can't remove your own Super Admin role. Another Super Admin must do it.
  • Roles are separate from a person's Organization status (MGA, Member, Associate Member), which is a membership category on their People record.
  • A person who signs in while you change their role sees the change the next time they return to the NizamOS tab or reload it.
  • Some screens need a plan as well as a role. See Can't see a module or "You don't have access".
