Volunteer details live on each person's own People record, so a volunteer is never a separate list. The Volunteers page is a directory over those records. Volunteers are part of the Core plan.

Who appears in Volunteers#

  • Active people whose Organization status is MGA (Board Member), Member or Associate Member (Volunteer) appear automatically.
  • Active people whose volunteer status is set to Active or Inactive on their record, including people who signed up as volunteers through a signup link. See Public signup links.
  • People archived or marked Inactive in People don't appear.

Record volunteer details#

  1. Open People and select the person's name.
  2. Go to the Volunteer tab.
  3. Choose a volunteer Status: Active, Inactive or Not a Volunteer.
  4. Tick their Interests (what they want to help with) and Skills (what they can do).
  5. Under Availability, tick every part of the day they are usually free: Morning, Afternoon or Evening, for each day of the week.
  6. Add optional Notes for coordinators.
  7. Choose Save volunteer details.

Find volunteers#

Open Volunteers. The counts at the top show how many are Active, Inactive and Not a Volunteer. Filter by Division, Interest, Skill, Available on (a day) and Volunteer status, then choose Clear filters to reset. Each card shows the person's interests, skills, availability and notes. Open a person to edit them.

Good to know#

  • Interests and skills are chosen from your organization's list. If a list shows "No interests are set up yet", there is nothing to choose from yet.
  • Only Active volunteers are suggested for volunteer requests. See Volunteer requests and invitations.
  • You can bring in interests, skills and availability with Bulk Import. See Import people from a spreadsheet.
  • Admins can open Volunteer Signup Links from the Volunteers page to recruit new volunteers.
